Fomalhaut, at the center of the picture, far outshines the other stars of Piscis Austrinus, the Southern Fish, which scatter off to the right of Fomalhaut. Beta PsA lies to the right of Fomalhaut, and then we find Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon clockwise from it in a ragged circle (Gamma and Delta close together down and to the right of Fomalhaut, Delta on the left). Pi is below Delta.

The upper stars of Grus, the Crane, form a downward line at lower right, while Sculptor (leading with Gamma Scl) lies to the lower left, Aquarius toward the upper left, and Capricornus toward the upper right.
