COLUMBA

Columba Columba, the Dove, is outlined principally by a prominent triangle of stars. The constellation can be found below Orion and to the west of Puppis. The bright star just above center at the left is the Zeta star of Canis Major. Mu Columbae is a "runaway star" that was ejected from near Orion's Trapezium Cluster 2.5 million years ago along with Auriga's AE Aurigae as a result of a binary interaction that also involved Na'ir al Saif (Iota Orionis).
