WIDE FIELD GEMINI AND CANIS MINOR
Gemini, with bright Castor (top) and
Pollux (bottom), occupies the center of the picture.
Auriga is at upper right, with bright Capella in the
corner. Looking down along the right hand side, find Betelgeuse in
Orion. Canis Minor,
marked by Procyon, is directly below Castor and Pollux. At the bottom are
the stars of Monoceros, while
Lynx sprawls across the upper left. The reddish glow toward bottom right
is the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros. The Summer Solstice lies toward center right.
Theta Geminorum, not part of theclassical figure, is to the right of Castor. The
Milky Way near the Galaxy's Anticenter
in southern Auriga falls from upper right toward lower center.
