DEEP CASSIOPEIA AND POINTS NORTH

The Milky Way, with its dark dust clouds, runs through the "W" of Cassiopeia as seen through the shutter of the 2.3 meter telescope of the Steward Observatory of the University of Arizona on Kitt Peak. Gamma Cas is the bright star just above center, with Shedar (Alpha) up and to the left, Ruchbah (Delta) up and to the right. Caph (Beta) is just down from Shedar, while Segin (Epsilon) is to the right of Ruchbah. Northern Cassiopeia is toward the bottom.
